Our Programs
M.F. McHugh Education Centre offers 4 types of programs/services as part of their treatment programs.
Coordinated Referral Programs — Referral to the education program is made by the student's home school and approved by the Coordinated Referral Committee through Coordinated Access.
Direct Referral Programs — Access to the education program is made through self-referral within the treatment partner centre.
Hospital Programs — Students admitted to hospital are referred to the education program by the professionals in the hospital.
Correctional Services — Students are referred to the education program through the judicial system.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does the M.F. McHugh school year follow the same academic calendar as it would in the OCSB or OCDSB?
A: The academic calendar is based on that of the OCSB, but does have some modifications, including some early dismissals, in order to accommodate clinical meetings and consultation.
Q: What are the typical hours in a school day for day treatment programs?
A: In many of the day treatment programs, the school day is shortened, in order to accommodate clinical meetings and consultation. Each site has its own predetermined school hours.
Q: Are students provided with transportation to day treatment programs?
A: For day treatment programs, transportation is provided by The Ottawa Student Transportation Authority (OSTA).
