Youth Services Bureau
Sherwood Unit serves male students between the ages of 12 and 18. Students in this facility are placed by the judicial system; some may be awaiting sentencing while others may be completing their sentence in an open custody setting.
William E. Hay Centre is a residential facility for adolescent males aged 12 to 18 who have been sentenced to a secure custody setting by the Courts. The length of the sentence may vary from months to years.
The provision of educational services is essential to both YSB units to ensure successful reintegration into the community.
Roberts/Smart Centre has a secure program for adolescent students placed by the decision of the courts. The educational program which follows the Ministry of Education Guidelines is an essential part of this program.
